Country Born

Closed

Open

I'm finally trying to get caught up with my blog posts. I had surgery on my shoulder a few days ago and haven't been able to do much. Great Pain Meds!!!

The stamp set used is Country Born.
The paper pack is Buzz and Bumble

Here is a card I made and taught for the Spring Fling that my friend Joyce had last Saturday. It is called the Diamond Fold Card. It's quite simple to make. Unfortunately, I only have one arm and can"t make a photo tutorial for you right now.
You start with a 4" x 12" piece of CS.
Score at 2" and 10".
Mark the center at 6" top and bottom, on the back side, with a tint pencil mark.
The rest is just an Origami fold. Fold the right side down at the pencil mark. The edge should also line up with the bottom pencil mark.
Fold the left side at this same pencil mark.
Open fold and turn paper 180 °. Then fold the same way at that pencil mark.
Make sure folds are crisp.
Open up all folds and using your thumbs and forefingers, press in around the diamond shape on one side and press the point. Then do the other side.
Use my photo as a guide.

The belly band was just something extra
I added to this card. It's not needed but I liked the finished project.

Special Card for Jordan

My 23 year old grandson Jordan is going through some rough times right now with Chemo to fight his cancer. This is a special card I made for him.

The design inspiration for this came from this weeks Verve Sketch Challenge.

I have a very hard time making masculine cards. But this one seemed to turn out pretty well.

Be Still and Happy Flowers

I had some of these Beautiful Fred She Said pre-colored Happy Flowers all printed and cut out. So, when I decided to use the Be Still stamp from Close to my Heart, I decided to use the flowers I already has ready instead of stamping them. My club however, will have to stamp their own flowers. Maybe the Cricut will cut them out for them. *Ü*

I used the retired Dotty for You papers layered on Sunkiss cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with Lagoon ink and clear embossed it.
The sparkles are from the Blue Green Assortment . I used the lightest green
It was all tied up with Sinkiss Organza ribbon.

I did the hand stitching with yellow matching Embroidery Floss.

Friends Forever

I hope you all had a great Palm Sunday. It seems really strange to have Easter only a week away and still being so cold outside. The weather man is predicting 3 to 6 inches of snow again tonight into tomorrow.

My card today was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge.
I added the corners and the strips of paper with stitches instead of paper. I used lots of different Hand Stitched designs on this card. I just realized that I missed a stitch. I'll have to fix that tomorrow.

The stamp set I used is a Close to my Heart set called Fabulous You.  Friends forever is part of this stamp set also. The paper pack is Clementine which is available until the end if July. I just love these colors of Sorbet and Twilight together.
I stamped the focal image twice. On the second one, I colored the bird and the flowers with the Close to my Heart Alcohol markers, cut them out and layered with foam tape. I used brown pearls from the Moca collection for the center of the flowers.

Buzzing with good wishes

We're having a very rainy and dreary day today so I thought I'd share a cheery card that my card club will be making this month. Bees and roses makes me think of Spring and I can't wait for it to get here.

The design inspiration started with a sketch challenge from Repeat Impressions.

The focal images is a new stamp from Close to my Heart called Bumble Bee. The rose is the smallest rose from the March Stamp of the Month, Floral Happiness.

The papers are from the Buzz & Bumble paper pack and the glitter paper is from the brown & tan collection.

If you've come here from Michelle's blog then you are on the right path. If you've just happened upon my blog, you can continue from here. The hop is one big loop.

The design of my card today started with a sketch challenge from Stamp with Fun.

I used a New paper pack called Chantilly. This paper pack also has matching fabric, which I used to make a ruffle around the rose image.
I cut a butterfly from the Close to my Heart exclusive cricut cartridge "Art Philosophy". I stamped on the butterfly the Love Doily image in Twilight ink. I need a birthday card so I chose to use the Birthday greetings from the Just a Number stamp set.

The body of the butterfly and the lower corners are adorned with Pink Glitter Gems.
I also added a few dots of Pink Glitz Glitter Gel to the center of the rose.

I did a bit of hand stitching with matching buttercup embroidery floss.

If you'd like to pick up any of the products I used or the Stamp of the month, Please visit my website and check out everything that is in our NEW catalog.

Easter Wishes

My card today is one of my club cards for this month. Easter is Early this year so I needed to create Easter cards this month already.

I used the NEW Close to my Heart stamp set called Easter Wishes along with a NEW paper pack called Chantilly.

The images were colored in with our new Alcohol markers. The Sentiment tag is tied on with Bakers Twine from the Paradise collection.

As a finishing touch, I added a few little googly eyes.

There are 63 Consultants participating in this Blog Hop. So, grab your favorite drink and sit back and enjoy the journey. We'd love if you also took a little time to leave us all a Sweet comment.

Home Sweet Home is a fun set with Four  Sentiment stamps. As soon as I saw this one stamp, my thoughts went to a Valentine but I changed my mind and made an Anniversary card with it instead.

The design of the card was inspired by a sketch from The Paper Players. Because of the larger sized stamp, I decided to make an Easel Card from the sketch.

All products used are from Close to my Heart except for the Spellbinder dies used for the sentiments.

Happy Valentine's Class Card #2

Here is the second of the three cards my club and class will be making this month.

Again we will be using the January SOTM, Happy Valentine's stamp set, but this time I also used the Stamp set, Words of Comfort. This card would be perfect for a Sympathy card as well as a Valentine or any other Love card.

The Hemp Baker's Twine is another sneak peak at a NEW product in the new CTMH Spring/Summer Catalog.

Colors used are Cashmere and White.

The last card my January class will be making is the one posted on January 1st.
