Some Bunny

Well, today is the first day of Lent, which means Spring is just around the corner and it's time to start thinking about Easter. This is the first of three cards for my March Card class.

With this card, I'm teaching how to use the new Embossing folders that Close to my Heart now carries. These folders are so unique because you can now emboss a continuous piece of paper 4 1/8" wide and any length due to the slit at the top of the folder. This is ideal for adding texture to scrapbook pages as well as large cards. The folder themselves are 5"x7".  The one I used is called Quatrefoil.

I embossed Pear Cardstock with the Quatrefoil embossing folder then wiped the pear ink pad over it. This was then mounted on Topiary CS

The stamp set is a special Hostess only stamp set called Some Bunny. It was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with water color pencils and a Blender Pen.

The scalloped Circle was cut with the CTMH exclusive cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy. The stamp matches the cut.

The inspiration for this card actually started with a sketch challenge from Catch the Bug.

Love You Beary Much

Earlier this week, My granddaughter Mya, wanted to make Valentines for her 1st grade class mates. It was hard to find stamps that I thought were appropriate for little kids. So I dug through my 17 years of CTMH stamps and found this oldie but goodie.  We thought it might be nice to add a little candy to it. However, none of the stores in our area had Valentine Hershy kisses left on the shelves. When it comes to candy, I don't think the kids will even notice what color they are.

Digging through my stash is so much fun. I found pink staples from many years ago. Matched up perfectly with the paper.

After School on Wednesday, Mya stamped all of the Bears and Hearts. I cut everything out for her and finished them so she could take them to school. Then the snow storm came. No school yesterday nor today. Then off on Presidents day on Monday. So, I guess they have to wait until Tuesday.

Challenges with this card:
The Stamping Boutique - Valentine
Totally Paper Crafts - Valentine
Crafty Little Fairies - Teddies

Inks used are Crystal Blue, Blush, Olive and Hollyhock. The three crystals were clear and I used the CTMH Hollyhock Alcohol marker to color them.

Sweet Moments

Here is the second card for my February Card class. I used another older stamp set that I hadn't used before. It's called Sweet Moments. When I found this in my stamp box, I couldn't believe I never used it before. It is such a BEAUTIFUL set. I'm so glad CTMH has not retired this set yet.

This month I am featuring the Ariana Paper Pack. This stamp set goes beautiful with this paper.

I wanted to teach my class how to make their own background paper. So, using the stamps only, I stamped with Hollyhock Ink onto Hollyhock Cardstock

The white lace is actually one of the stamps inked with the VersaMark and then coated with white embossing powder and heated. I also dod the same thing with the Cameo. That is white embossing bowder on the Olive cardstock.

The Blush cardstock in the background is dry embossed with a dot embossing folder. For the month of Februsaary only......Buy two packs of cardstock of your choice and choose any embossing folder for FREE. There are five to choose from. Damask, Quatrefoil, Chevron, Dot, and Stripe.

In The Moment Flair

Here is my first card for my card class this month. I have this problem where I buy too many stamp sets with each new Close to my Heart catalog and don't get around to using them within that 6 months. So here I am using a stamp set from the fall/winter catalog. This stamp set is called In The Moment Flair.

I teamed this set up with a new paper pack called Ariana. There are so many beautiful paper packs in the new Spring.Summer CTMH catalog and this is ONE of my favorites.

I wanted to teach my class this month how to use the Stitch Guide Ruler and then how to stitch. The swirl at the bottom right was made using the guide and pink Embroidery Floss.

The Happy Birthday is from Joyful Birthday stamp set. The "i" in Birthday is dotted with a Flamingo Dot.

Colors are Blush and Olive. I just love this color combination.

The inspiration for this card started with a sketch challenge from I (heart) card Sketches.

Dragonfly

This is the 3rd of 3 cards for my January card class. It's Quick card stamp called Dragonfly. All cards this months uses discontinuing products that will be gone the end of this month. So, this is the last chance to find things you love but missed purchasing. Here is the link to all items that are still left in stock.

Now onto my card. The cardstock is Crystal Blue
First I stamped the music stamp from the Universal Backgrounds on white cardstock using Crystal Blue Ink.
The strip going down the right side is Crystal Blue CS layered with a stripe from Surt's Up Paper Pack.

On a smaller piece of white CS to fit the stamp, I stamped the dragonfly using VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder. After heating the powder, I sponged over it with crystal and Lagoon inks.

The little swirl in the lower left corner is from The Best Thinks Stamp set. It was stamped with Lagoon ink and topped with the smallest flower from the Base and Bling Floral accents

The double swirl on the right side is from small flourishes..

Wild About Love - class card #2

I have this thing about not using the Close to my Heart (CTMH) Stamp of the month (SOTM) before the month is it released. HOWEVER, this is the February SOTM and I couldn't resist using it for a Valentine card for my club. This is the firswt stamp set used from the NEW Spring/Summer CTMH catalog which goes live on February 1st. My clubs only meet the week of Valentines day and if we had snow that week, they wouldn't get a chance to make this cute card. So, this is card #2 of my January card class.

I love using pink and gray together and don't do it often enough. What I really like about this set and this card, is that it doesn't have to be for Valentines day. It could be for an Anniversary or just for any time you really want to let someone special in your life know how much they mean to you.
This card may just be the Valentine for my 4 year old grandson Jeffrey since he sometimes can be a Wild Thing! All Boy!!!

The colors of my cardstock are, Slate, Whisper, and Blush. Inks used are Blush and Slate.
The background was embossed with a Spellbinders heart embossing folder. Gray bakers twine was tied around the card and slate washi tape was used across the bottom.

Cross Stitch Wishes - January SOTM

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
It's January already and time for the new Close to my Heart Stamp of the Month (SOTM) called Cross Stitch Wishes. This is the first of the three cards my January clubs will be making.
I combined this stamp set with two others that go perfectly with the SOTM and also Valentines Day. The Happy Valentines day is from "Holiday Tags". The stitching at the top portion of the card and the Love you to Pieces is from "Stitch Wonder" stamp set.

The paper pack is Chantilly, which will be retiring at the end of this month.

The washi Tape is called Ruby Chevron and the red button is tied up with green bakers twine.

The funny part of making this card is that I had two fabulous friends, Jolene and Crystal, over for a play date on Monday. My head was still in the Christmas mode and I just could not come up with a design using this stamp set. It took me two days to get my head back on straight!!! *Ü*

I love sketch challenges. This one from Your Next Stamp is perfect.

Challenges for this card :
Brown Sugar - Use Ribbon or Twine.
Card Makin Mamas - Anything Goes

Flakey Friends #3

OK, this should be the last of my 24 Christmas Thank You cards. This is the third of the Flakey Friends set from Close to my Heart.I had so much fun making these and by keeping all of them the same design, I was able to make them up very quickly. I have others that I made but posted them on my other blog, since I used Fred She Said images for those Thank You Cards.

The papers used are from the Frosted Paper Pack. The papers and the burlap ribbon are also from Close to my Heart.

I topped the snowy areas with white Liquid Applique and prisma glitter.
