April Joyful Stars Blog Hop - Yesterday and Today Birthday

Welcome to the Joyful Stars Blog Hop

If you've come here from Joyce Gough's Blog, then you are on the right track. If you've just happened upon my blog, just keep hoping until you get right back here.

My card today uses Yesterday and Today Papers and Cardmaking Stamps

The Rose and Leaves were stamped with Expresso Die Ink then sprinkled with Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder
If this is done with a juicy pad and right after stamping, the gold EP makes the ink a softer color with a little sparkle to it. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture this in the photo.

The Happy Birthday is from the Sentiments Stamp Set by Melissa Esplin

Strips of Gold Glitter Paper adorn the top and bottom as well as punched circles which were topped with Liquid Glass

The bow was made by pulling apart the long time retired wide burlap ribbon.

Paper Garden Fall Birthday

Here is card #2 of my September Card Class. In case you missed it, here is card #1. Both of these cards was made using the CTMH September Stamp of the month, Paper Garden.
This stamp set can only be purchased through September 31st, 2015. You can get it for only $5 with a qualifying $50 purchase or $17.95 with no other purchase.

For this card, I used the NEW paper pack called Sangria

The Happy Birthday is from the retired "Happy Everything" stamp set.

Colors used are, Pomegranate, Poppy, Fern, and Saffron.

On the fancy fold part of the Champagne cardstock, I stamped the Season of Thanks in Pomegrante ink on one side and the chain link fencing from the SOTM in Champagne on the other side so when folded, both sides show.

The Fern Thick Twine was attached using the CTMH Mini Stapler. I finished the card off using three Sequins from the Gold Collection.

Love Ya Silly - Birthday

I needed a Birthday in a hurry and the first stamp set I found in my stash was this CTMH Set called Love Ya Silly. Even thought the sentiments are geared towards a valentine, I just used the images and turned it into a cute Birthday card for a little boy's 7th Birthday.
The sentiments came from the Perfect Fit Birthday Stamp Set

The inspiration for the card started with a sketch from The Sketch Aunts. I just turned it on it's side.

I started with the sketch and the Confetti Wishes Paper Pack.  I then used inks from the color pallet of the paper which is Pacifica, Pear, Thistle and Canary.

You Mean The World Birthday

The last card I posted was a Valentine. But, I wanted to use the same sketch and concept and made this one a Birthday card. I just love the Heartstrings Paper Pack. So, just showing how changing a piece of paper, dies cut and one stamp, you can change the total look of the same card.

I used a different piece of the Heartstrings Paper. Using the Chevron Border Punch, I punched the bottom left corner and lined it with Red Shimmer Trim. I then cut a doily with hearts from the Close to my Heart exclusive Cricut Cartridge, "Artiste"

I cut a smaller circle out of Cranberry Cardstock and ran it through the tiny dots embossing folder and sanded it to expose the fabulous white core of the CTMH cardstock.

I then cut a smaller circle using a spellbinders die and sponged the inside edge with lagoon ink before removing the paper from the die.

I then stamped the Birthday Sentiment from the "You Mean The World To Me" Stamp set with Cranberry Ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder to give it more dimension.

The swag spray was stamped with Lagoon ink and heat embossed also. The roses were stamped with cranberry and all was fussy cut.

I assembled all pieces following the Cardabilities Sketch and added three Red Enamel Hearts to the upper right corner.

Other Challenges for this card:
Cards Und More - Use a Doily
Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots - Use something New
Love to Create - Anything
Dreamweaver Stencils - Birthday Wishes
Seize the Birthday - Birthday

What a Hoot

I thought I scheduled these cards to post before leaving for vacation, but I guess I didn't.
These are two cards my club made for the August card class. They are both made using the August Stamp of the Month called What a Hoot.
The Birthday card uses the Pathfinder Paper pack for the paper piecing.

The Halloween card uses the Scaredy Cat Paper Pack. Both cards use the NEW ShinHan Alcohol markers for coloring. And both cards used paper piecing.
