Easter Wishes

My card today is one of my club cards for this month. Easter is Early this year so I needed to create Easter cards this month already.

I used the NEW Close to my Heart stamp set called Easter Wishes along with a NEW paper pack called Chantilly.

The images were colored in with our new Alcohol markers. The Sentiment tag is tied on with Bakers Twine from the Paradise collection.

As a finishing touch, I added a few little googly eyes.

Home Sweet Home

Welcome to the Close to my Heart, Home Sweet Home, February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.

If you've come here from Cecilia's  Blog, you are on the right path. If you just happened across my blog, then just keep going from here. The hop goes in one big circle. There are 63 Consultants participating in this Blog Hop. So, grab your favorite drink and sit back and enjoy the journey. We'd love if you also took a little time to leave us all a Sweet comment.

Home Sweet Home is a fun set with Four  Sentiment stamps. As soon as I saw this one stamp, my thoughts went to a Valentine but I changed my mind and made an Anniversary card with it instead.

The design of the card was inspired by a sketch from The Paper Players. Because of the larger sized stamp, I decided to make an Easel Card from the sketch.

All products used are from Close to my Heart except for the Spellbinder dies used for the sentiments.

Happy Valentine's Class Card #2

Here is the second of the three cards my club and class will be making this month.

Again we will be using the January SOTM, Happy Valentine's stamp set, but this time I also used the Stamp set, Words of Comfort. This card would be perfect for a Sympathy card as well as a Valentine or any other Love card.

The Hemp Baker's Twine is another sneak peak at a NEW product in the new CTMH Spring/Summer Catalog.

Colors used are Cashmere and White.

The last card my January class will be making is the one posted on January 1st.

Happy Valentine's Class card #1

Sometimes I love my cards and sometimes I feel I just can't get something right. Well, this one I love. The colors are more vibrant in person.
This is one of my January class cards. I'm teaching my version of the Chalk Board Technique using the CTMH January Stamp of the Month called Happy Valentine's.

The best thing about this stamp set is, it can be used for any occasion. This card is not only a Valentine, but can also be Anniversary or I love you just because card.

I used the NEW Shimmer paper found in the New Spring/Summer Catalog, going live on February 1st as well as the silver shimmer tape.

Actually, you can get this silver shimmer paper in the Whoo's your Valentine Special this month. You can find details here. With a $35 purchase, you can get the special for only $10. Add another $5 to you order and you can now get his fabulous Roses Stamp of the Month for only $5.00.

If you're interested in any of these specials, you can order directly from my website or from me. I have an EZ Invite gathering open that you can join. Your order will be sent directly to you, but you will be helping out this month's club hostess.

I also submitted this card to the Drunken Stampers challenge of All that Glitters.

Bumble Bee

I had to throw a quick card together today and had some of my new Close to my Heart product out of the box but hadn't played with it yet. SO......I used one of my new fabulous stamps and paper back. These will all be available February 1st. The paper pack is called Buzz and Bumble and the stamp is Bumble Bee.

I first use Kraft cardstock as my base. Then layered it with a piece of Buzz and Bumble paper. I stamped the Bumble Bee with cocoa ink on Kraft CS then layered on cocoa cardstock. I distressed parts of the card with desert sand ink. I tied a piece of Helm Bakers twine around with a bow to finish it off.

CTMH January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, do to a misunderstanding on my part, I was not on the blog hop list this month. But that's OK. I'm just so excited to use this stamp set this month.

Can you believe we're into a New Year already! Where did 2012 go. Well, the best thing about the New Year is this fabulous Stamp of the Month from Close to my Heart called Happy Valentine's. The beautiful thing about this stamp set is that the roses can be used for any occasion.

My card today is a very simple one using the SOTM, Happy Valentine's along with the La Belle Vie paper pack.
I stamped the single rose twice and colored them with the CTMH alcohol markers in Smokey Plum and copic in greens. I cut the flower from the second one and layered it with foam tape.
I colored the bitty pearls in the center of the flower with the Creme Brulee Alcohol marker and the pearls at the top of the card with the Smokey Plum marker.

The sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark Ink. I then applied white embossing powder and heated it.

The stitching at the top of the card was done by hand using Embroidery floss that matches the Bamboo cardstock.

I made a bow out of mauve ribbon. It matches perfectly with the flower even though it doesn't look like it does in the photo.

I have lots more ideas for this set so come back soon and see what other creations I come up with.

Flakey Friends

I needed another card for my club for this month and even though Christmas is only 12 days away, I thought I'd make a card that could be used after Christmas also. If my club is like me, they will need this as a Christmas card.
The neat think about this card is that the tree folds flat for sending.

I can't believe I've had this cute stamp set called Flakey Friends for months now and this is the first card I made with it. Oh well, snowmen are always great for any occasion cards for the winter months. The snowflake borders on the sides are part of the stamp set too.

Speaking of stamps never used, the tree on the left and the swirls with it are from a retired CTMH set called Nature's Gift. I guess this is a case of too many stamps and so little time.

I used Non-traditional Christmas colors of Smokey Plum and Olive. The dimensional tree on the right was cut from the CTMH exclusive Cricut Cartridge "Art Philosophy". The tree folds flat for sending.
I used CTMH Almond Glitz Glitter Gel for the centers of the snowfakes, and to decorate the tree.

For the snow on the one tree and under the snowman, I applied White Liquid Applique and added some heat to puff, then some Prisma Glitter on top.
The scarf and hat were colored in with our NEW Alcohol markers in Smokey Plum and Olive.

The design inspiration came from this weeks challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Merry and Bright Swing Card

Today I decided to play with the CTMH Exclusive Cricut Cartridge, Artiste. I cut one of the swing cards out of Dakota B&T. I wanted a print that wasn't too busy and thought the wood grain would be perfect.

I combined Merry and Bright stamp set and the Perfect Fit - Holidays. The big snowflake is a spellbinders die and the snowflake border is a MS edge punch. I added some of the CTMH Red Glitz to the berries and flowers on the wreaths. Colors of ink used are Ruby and New England Ivy.

O Christmas Tree

Here is one of the cards that my November Club made.
The background was made using the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder. The trees were made from two half circles of Pear & Partridge Papers folded into a tree.
I took clear sparkles and colored them with a deep red Copic marker. I didn't have the CTMH alcohol marker needed to get the color I wanted.
The sentiment is from an old retired CTMH set.

Angelic Blessings Christmas Card

I fell in love with this Close to my Heart stamp set at first sight. It has so many possibilities.
My card started out being a Sympathy Card but it ended up a Christmas Card.

I started out with a sketch from My Time Made Easy.

The Angel is from a set called Angelic Blessings and the sentiment is from Card Chatter Christmas. Colors used are Sky and Gypsy.

I added some clear glitter from MS to the Angel wings and clouds. The Spellbinders dies was cut out and MS purple Glitter glue applied to the edging.  The Memory Box Dies Cut in the upper right corner was layered with prisma glitter.

I hand stitched around the card with white embroidery floss in just a regular straight stitch. I LOVE hand stitching. It's my therapy
